The Finance Committee oversees the financial life of the parish including budgets and investments and makes recommendations to the vestry in all matters of finance. The committee meets quarterly to review financial reports and to advise on all other financial concerns of the parish. The “other funds” of the parish, which include investments, capital, and memorial funds are reviewed. The Finance Committee proposes an annual operating budget to the vestry based on pledges, plate collections, and income from other funds. The proposed budget is voted upon at the annual meeting.
The parish’s financial condition ranged from a deficit of $440 (1933) to its present solvency with trust and endowment funds in excess of $200,000 (exclusive of fixed assets). Between 1865 and 1945, Christ Church was a Diocesan aided parish in order to supplement the rectors salary.
