Members of the congregation offer their gifts of time and talent in various way to enhance our worship and fulfill our mission of service in God's name. Music is an important part of our worship, and although our numbers are not large, the quality of music is inspiring and impressive.
8:00 am A quiet Holy Communion service (no 8am services in the month of June 2024)
10:00 am A hybrid in-person and Zoom Holy Communion with music. Most people attend in person.
Our worship follows the Book of Common Prayer. We tend toward "Broad Church." We appreciate good liturgy. Although we may sing the Gloria, Sanctus and Fraction, the rest of the service is spoken. The parish has held an appreciation for music. Our priest will priest vest in alb and stole in warmer months and will wear a chasable from fall through spring. Occasionally we will offer Morning Prayer with the Eucharist at the primary Sunday worship service. We seldom use bells and do not use incense. Our parish is a scent-free facility. We are open and affirming.
ZOOM: Connect 9:45 – 9:59 for fellowship and technical assistance. The following connection information is the same every time: either visit Our Sunday Zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/3306734604. Please email us during office hours for the zoom password before Sunday each week.
We offer special services throughout the year. Upcoming services will be listed here.
The businessman: “I expect six clergymen to dine with me on such a day,” said a gentleman to his butler. “Very good, sir,” said the butler. “Are they High Church or Low Church, sir?” “What on earth can that signify to you?” asked the astonished master. “Everything, sir,” was the reply. “If they are High Church, they’ll drink; if they are Low Church, they’ll eat!” if they are High Church, I must provide more wine; if Low Church, more wittles.”

Lectors and chalice bearers have an important role in Sunday worship. Lectors read the lessons, lead the Psalm, and offer the prayers of the people. Licensed Eucharistic Ministers serve as Chalice bearers during Holy Eucharist. Eucharistic Ministers are licensed by the diocese for a period of 3 years after local training.
The altar guild is responsible for preparing the sanctuary for worship. Members care for candles, altar linens and vessels in preparation for regular Sunday worship and special occasions such as baptisms, weddings, and funerals. Altar servers also take responsibility for preparing the sanctuary at Christmas and Easter. Members work in teams on a rotating schedule.
Acolytes are people who assist the clergy in the church service. Acolytes carry the Processional cross, and help set the altar for the Holy Eucharist. Our youth who are 12 years and older and adults are welcome to be acolytes.
Ushers provide a welcome to those attending our 10:00 a.m. service. They greet worshipers as they enter the Sanctuary, carry forth the elements for Holy Eucharist, collect the congregational offering, and ensure the sanctuary is tidy following service.
Christ Church has several other organizations and committees which serve the church.
