For nature enthusiasts, Kent provides an abundance of outdoor activities. The Cuyahoga River meanders through the city, offering kayaking and tubing, hiking, and biking. The Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Metro Parks, and nearby State Parks also give ample opportunities for outdoor pastimes like hiking, mountain biking, skiing, fishing, and more. Families with young children can take advantage of the many parks with playgrounds in the area, and affordable summer day camps. 

Kent's strategic location, situated between Akron and Cleveland, provides easy access to urban amenities such as world-class museums, professional sports, theater, restaurants, and much more.  Nearby Blossom Music Center, an outdoor concert venue, is the summer home to the Cleveland Orchestra, and hosts a variety of popular music performances as well. 

The drive from Christ Episcopal Church to Trinity Cathedral in Cleveland takes only 45 minutes.  The Cathedral also offers concerts and various events.

Several industrial and corporate businesses make  their home in Kent, such as the Davey Tree Expert Company,  Smithers-Oasis, and Land O’ Lakes. Public schools are highly rated, with  4.5 out of 5 stars from the state of Ohio. Northeast Ohio is home to several major health care institutions, including Cleveland Clinic, Summa Health, and University Hospitals.
